Dr. Steven Goldstein unpacks the often confusing stages of perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause — clarifying what’s normal, what’s not, and how women can better understand the hormonal transitions of midlife. From fluctuating symptoms to shifting guidelines, this session will provide clear, evidence-based explanations for one of the most misunderstood phases in women’s health.

The session will begin with a 30-minute overview from Dr. Goldstein, followed by a 30-minute live Q&A moderated by Dr. Lisa Larkin. Dr. Goldstein will answer audience questions, address common myths, and explore how clinicians can more effectively support women through this critical time.

Steven R. Goldstein, MD, CCD, MSCP, FACOG, is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and one of the most recognized experts in midlife women’s health and ultrasound. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a pioneer in the use of vaginal probe ultrasound, contributing foundational research that has shaped menopause care and hormone therapy safety.

Dr. Goldstein is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for his groundbreaking career in medical ultrasound and women’s health. He has published seven books, authored more than 60 textbook chapters and 150 research articles, and lectured extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Dr. Lisa Larkin, MD, FACP, MSCP, IF, will moderate the discussion, bringing her expertise in women’s health, midlife care, and prevention. As founder of HERmedicine and Ms.Medicine, Dr. Larkin is passionate about delivering accurate, evidence-based care and education for women.
