Lisa Larkin, MD, FACP, MSCP, IF
Lisa Larkin, MD, FACMP, MSCP, IF, is an internal medicine physician, women’s health leader, educator, and founder whose career has been dedicated to improving the way women are cared for across the healthcare system.
For more than 35 years, Dr. Larkin has cared for women across the lifespan, with a clinical focus on midlife women’s health, menopause, sexual medicine, breast health, cardiovascular risk, cancer survivorship, prevention, and comprehensive primary care. Across academic medicine, private practice, national leadership, physician education, and nonprofit work, her focus has remained consistent: women deserve care that is evidence-based, comprehensive, and grounded in the realities of their lives.
Dr. Larkin founded HERmedicine because she saw the same gaps repeated again and again — women struggling to find accurate information, clinicians seeking practical education in complex areas of women’s health, and critical topics being fragmented across specialties or distorted by misinformation. HERmedicine was created as a nonprofit education platform to help close those gaps.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, HERmedicine is not built around selling products, promoting trends, or advancing a commercial agenda. Its purpose is education: to provide free live virtual learning for clinicians and women, support multidisciplinary collaboration, and create trusted spaces where evidence can be discussed thoughtfully, respectfully, and translated into better care.
Dr. Larkin believes that improving women’s healthcare requires both sides of the exam room to be better supported. Clinicians need rigorous, practical, evidence-based education. Women need access to trusted information so they can understand their health, ask better questions, and participate meaningfully in decisions about their care.
HERmedicine reflects that belief — bringing clinicians, women, researchers, educators, advocates, and experts together to advance evidence-based women’s health and improve care for women everywhere.
