Target Audience

This activity is designed for women’s health practitioners across specialties with novice level of experience in menopause care.

Learning Objectives

  • At the completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  • Identify key gaps between real‑world menopause care and guideline‑based MHT use.

  • Summarize core menopause physiology, symptoms, and MHT benefit–risk data for individualized counseling, including use after age 65.

  • Correct common MHT misconceptions and practice gaps using contemporary guideline principles.

  • Outline menopause‑informed cardiometabolic care integrating screening, lifestyle, GLP‑1s, and MHT.

  • Individualize GLP‑1/dual agonist therapy and cardiovascular risk prevention, avoiding unsafe or compounded regimens.

  • Distinguish WHI‑era perceptions from current timing‑dependent MHT data to support shared decision‑making.

  • Perform standardized breast cancer risk assessment at midlife using validated models to guide genetics and screening.

  • Identify women at high breast cancer risk and recommend enhanced screening and risk‑reducing medications per guidelines.

  • Differentiate high‑risk but unaffected women from survivors to guide MHT and non-hormonal options.
