Your Hormones Are Not Failing You: The Truth About Midlife Metabolism and Your Changing Body - Kimberley Sampson-Paine, MD, MSc

Your metabolism isn't broken — it's changing. And there's a big difference. In this HERtalks session, Dr. Kimberley Sampson-Paine cuts through the confusion and the noise to explain what's actually happening in your body at midlife: how shifting hormones affect your metabolism, weight, insulin sensitivity, and energy — and why the strategies that worked in your 30s may not work anymore. This isn't a lecture about eating less and moving more. It's an honest, science-backed conversation about what midlife metabolic changes really look like, why they happen, and what you can actually do about them. You'll walk away with a clearer understanding of your own body and a more compassionate — and effective — approach to your health.

Kimberley Sampson-Paine, MD, MSc, is a triple board-certified OB/GYN, Obesity Medicine specialist, and Lifestyle Medicine physician practicing at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, where she serves as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Assistant Professor at Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine.
