Integrating Botanicals into Midlife: What is the Evidence? - Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz, MD, FACOG

Patient interest in botanical therapies during the menopause transition has never been higher — but the clinical evidence landscape is uneven, and the gap between what patients are using and what clinicians know about those products is wide. In this session, Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz brings her unique vantage point as both a board-certified OB/GYN and a certified integrative medicine specialist to a rigorous, evidence-based review of the most commonly used botanicals in midlife women's health. Clinicians will gain a practical framework for evaluating the evidence — and the gaps — behind popular botanicals, including black cohosh, phytoestrogens, adaptogens, and more. With an emphasis on safety, drug interactions, and shared decision-making, this session equips clinicians to meet patients where they are and guide them toward informed, evidence-grounded choices.

Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN and integrative medicine specialist at Women's Care of Beverly Hills, bringing more than two decades of clinical experience to the intersection of conventional gynecology and holistic women's health. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and holds dual board certification in OB/GYN and integrative and holistic medicine.
