In this session, Andrea Singer, MD, FACP, CCD, reviews the role of anabolic therapies in the management of osteoporosis. The discussion will examine indications for use, patient selection, sequencing strategies, duration of therapy, and safety considerations. Emphasis will be placed on translating current evidence and guideline recommendations into practical prescribing decisions, helping clinicians determine when anabolic treatment is appropriate and how to integrate it effectively into long-term fracture prevention strategies.
Andrea Singer, MD, FACP, CCD, is Associate Professor and Chief of the Division of Women’s Primary Care and Director of Bone Densitometry in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. She also serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and Medical Director of VIP Health Check.
Dr. Singer is board-certified in internal medicine and is a Certified Clinical Densitometrist specializing in the interpretation of bone density testing. Her clinical expertise includes women’s primary care, osteoporosis, secondary fracture prevention, menopause, sexual health, and the intersection of medical and gynecologic conditions. She also serves as Clinical Director of the National Osteoporosis Foundation and is a nationally recognized leader in bone health and osteoporosis management.
