The Great Menopause Debate - The NEW ACOG Guidelines: Evaluation of Postmenopausal Bleeding - Steven R. Goldstein, MD, CCD, MSCP, FACOG

The new ACOG guidelines on the evaluation of postmenopausal bleeding represent a meaningful shift in clinical recommendations — and they're not without controversy. In this Great Menopause Debate session, Dr. Steven Goldstein brings his unparalleled expertise in vaginal probe ultrasound and uterine safety to a critical examination of what the updated guidelines get right, where they fall short, and what they mean for clinical practice. As the developer of saline infusion sonohysterography and a leading voice in menopausal ultrasound for decades, Dr. Goldstein is uniquely positioned to interrogate these recommendations from both a scientific and a practical standpoint — challenging assumptions, presenting the evidence, and giving clinicians a clear-eyed framework for applying — or questioning — the new guidance in their own practice.

Steven R. Goldstein, MD, CCD, MSCP, FACOG, is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University School of Medicine and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, is one of the most highly recognized and regarded individuals in the field of vaginal probe ultrasound worldwide. For his pioneering work in menopausal and perimenopausal ultrasound, he was awarded the Ian Donald Gold Medal of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has designed uterine safety studies for several MHT products and Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs). He is the developer of the Goldstein Catheter for saline infusion somnohysterography (SIS). He is a past president of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, as well as of The Menopause Society and the International Menopause Society. He is a prolific author, speaker, and huge advocate for midlife women's health.
